Point of Attack

The event that propels your protagonist into the story.  Usually happens at the end of the First Sequence and begins the Second Sequence. 

In Lord of the Rings, Gandalf informs Frodo that the Ring is no longer safe and they have to travel away from The Shire. In Fight Club, the Protagonist meets Tyler Durden. In Rear Window, Jeffries’ routine is broken when he sees a suspicious event across the street.
